JuicyBraHi, the AKG's are an open back headphone, which have a different use than your m50x. While they will sound better to most people, they would server better as an addition (especially for home listening) to your collection than a direct replacement for your m50x. If you want an upgrade for the m50x looks at the MSR7 from Audio Technica.
