Can i get someone's opinion? I would like to know if the FiiO E18 would operate these headphones well. Please say what you can to help me, because I really want this headphones. But I can't afford to buy them and then buy a new amp.

Codeman785If you're on a budget, then the FiiO E18 will do fine for now, it will certainly be better than no amp. I personally picked up a JDS Labs Objective 2 amp, as it was recommended as a good sub-200 dollar amp by someone on head-fi.

dasizemanHmm well it's not that expensive; $130 on their website. But are you talking about the Objective 2 Amp/DAC? Because that one is nearly $300. That is too much for me, but would I need the DAC?

Codeman785No, I just got the amplifier. It looks like the FiiO E18 is a DAC, so no, you don't need a new one, you can run the output from your FiiO into the input on the O2. I'm doing something similar with an old Creative Soundblaster DAC/Amp combo I've had for a long time. I haven't tried this setup yet, but the usual process is to turn the DAC volume all the way up and use your main amp's knob to control volume. In truth I haven't really read much about what to do if your DAC has a built in amp, so we're both going to have to experiment when our gear arrives :)

dasizemanYa so I'll try to get a O2 and use my E18 as output, and see how it works from there. Hopefully I get full potential from the K7XX's
