xmrxOn amazon it's either K701 or K712, and K7XX offered here is completely different in sounding. Also these are made in China, whereas the other two made in Europe.
iLoveTomb3rY okay tell me which exactly completly different in sounding. you know they are shitting you right ? Same shit with HD700 , MD is turning to ebay
xmrxBased on the authoritative and almighty Zeo from Z reviews on YouTube, I can confidently say those three are all different sounding. What do you based your strong opinion that leads you to the radical attitude towards massdrop and having a strong believe those three are the same behind the mask? What do you base off of, and...have you even owned any one of them?
iLoveTomb3rY I own HD650 for the last 7 years. Do you understand that to run high end headphones you need to have even more expensive sound card ( which not many people have ) . For this small quantity of 1500 pieces that they are going to make , do you think it matters to them that much that they would change everything inside their headphone drivers ? Even if they change something by a bit they can write in the description what ever they want and people wont understand what it means. + You wont notice that small difference . Why do you think that they always write that price of the headphones is over 600$ and this is must buy for 200$ ! I would not be surprised if this pair is even worse shit then the original they make in Europe which you can buy on Amazon for the same price. But at the end people buy what ever they want , i am just saying how i see it. And reviews from this "audiophiles" how can you even listen to that crap , everyone hears sound different.
xmrxDon't act like you're any different than us, because guess what - you still buy into the HD650 hype. And no, I don't think they does much to the drivers, they might very well be the same too. However anyone who had a little experience with audiophile equipment, knows that drivers only plays a 20% part of what makes the headphones great. An often overlooked proportion being the form of the housing, the shape, size and material of the pads etc. contribute way more than the driver does. Tweaking these configurations doesn't cost that much, or even any money at all. If all you see is crap, then you're doing it wrong. Headphones and audio aren't meant to be judged from a distance, it's not humanly possible to "see" they are the same headphones, or "see" they sound the same. You can only listen. If you didn't listen, and couldn't write a report about it you are just making things up. This is what you're doing right now - spreading controversies.
Anyway, I would trust people who listened to countless different headphones than you who has only listened to one set of headphones for 7 years (!). So, I don't believe everything you said.
To correct what you said, no the sonic effect of sound card is minimal when compared to the design of the headphones and a proper amp. Most high end headphones can run great with decent sized files and properly pushed with the amount of power.
iLoveTomb3rYI never said that i am any different then rest of the people here. I buy things here which cant be bought anywhere else. But this things can be bought on other websites.
xmrxThe way you denying the fact that those headphones are different, and spreading controversies about the dark side of the industry makes you seem special. You don't buy into this shit that people and massdrop give you, do you?
iLoveTomb3rYThat is correct , I dont buy shit because its Capitalism with big C. And what does MD give us ? Its company just like any other that want to make money.
xmrxYeah...people want headphones, they want money. Seems pretty fair doesn't it? What do you want, massdrop giving out products for free? Now that's unfair.
iLoveTomb3rYYou are missing the whole point. Go and buy them i dont care , i said what i had to say so people can think a bit. You are defending them like you work for them. GO and buy them , I am done with this discussion.
xmrxMassdrop has way more positive things to be said than the negatives, a lot of group buys t just couldn't happen without the man power there organising them. And that would only be a loss to any community. A hobbyist who has a normal life just wouldn't have the time and energy to organise, manufacture then to distribute (sometimes to thousands of people).
xmrxThere is no doubt that many companies, including AKG, release “new” products that are simply minor tweaks of existing products. Some people will claim that it’s simply the company being greedy, trying to push more and more products onto their loyal customer base. There is certainly some truth to this argument. Others can say that the company is merely addressing customer criticisms and developing new products in response to customer feedback. The truth, of course, lies somewhere in between.
I, however, purchased these because I do not currently own any AKG K/Q 7-- series headphones. And based on reviews, at $199, the K7XX seems to offer the best combination of comfort, sound quality, and price, of the 7-- series. 712's are $315, all others are between $200-$250, and these have better pads than those. Simple as that.
iLoveTomb3rYYou do realise these headphones are the K702 65th Anniversary Editions, and as such cannot be bought on Amazon, and you are comparing them to the wrong headphones. The K702 Annys were $450 new where these are $200 so a significant drop in price for the same headphone.
I do really love when someone has a rant about something they know nothing about. What a waste of your time....
BillUpUm yeah? It seems like you're the only one mentioning the K702. Not like you know anything... you can't even comprehend what I wrote. No one is ranting about the K702, get it? Leave now, kid.
alanchun1998Yes and no, I'm no audiophile and China has a reputation for creating crap. In reality thoygh they are also very good at making high quality products, you just have to pay for them like anywhere else.
