TrobsI just did a shootout between the two and I have to go with the AKG. I listened to Temptation, by Holly Cole; Schubert, String Quartet in G, Op. 161, D 887, 3rd movement by Cuarteto Casals; and Hey Nineteen, Steely Dan (from Gaucho). I have an Oppo HA-1 headphone amp that is driving the cans: The sound on the HE350s is rich and creamy and the soundstage is big, some of which you would expect in a headphone with balanced inputs (the AKG has one input), but there is a hboxiness to the sound on the HE350s that seems to make the individual voices kind of glow. I find this a little offputting. The AKG sound signature is clear and neutral. I prefer that, I think, to the HE350s, which almost sound kind of gimmicky next to the K7XX. Just an opinion.
