Has anyone tried aftermarket earpads on these?

I ran across these on Amazon, priced at $21. They don't look any thicker than the stock pads, but they're advertised as being made of sheepskin: https://www.amazon.com/NEOMUSICIA-Replacement-Headphones-Sheepskin-Cushions/dp/B072LSVD8C

More quiet. My stock AKG K550mk1 have more bass now. On stock earpads it's the other way around. Velour provides less isolation so it was expected.

Mini reveiw: These are super light weight and don't have much clamp force, which makes these pretty comfy to wear, no third party earpads necessary. On top of that, they're so flexible I feel like I could stretch these over the earth without breaking them. However, don't be fooled by the impedance. You're going to need an amp if you want the bass and overall volume to do anything but wimper. Really enjoying these on the whole.

Would I need an amp for this if I drove this from my mobo? I have an ASUS B350F. C/P: ROG SupremeFX 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC S1220A - Dual Headphone Amplifiers - Impedance sense for front and rear headphone outputs - Supports : Jack-detection, Multi-streaming, Front Panel Jack-retasking - High quality 120 dB SNR stereo playback output and 113 dB SNR recording input - SupremeFX Shielding Technology - Supports up to 32-Bit/192kHz playback  Would I be able to tell where noises are coming from in game?

I don't know how much power those amps put out, so it's hard to say for sure, but I would think they'd be able power the headphones to at least a reasonably good volume level. As for your second question, I'm not a gamer, but hopefully someone who is will chime in.

might be a dumb question but I do not understand what a lot of sound stuff means I am wondering if the headphones are stereo / surround sound

But what about gaming headsets that claim "Digital 7.1 Surround" that sounds like you're listening to music in an echo chamber?

Nope. Marketing bullcrap in most cases. There might be digital signal processing to emulate surround, but it's on PC level, not headphones. Here's one video about it: https://youtu.be/-_JpAyWMeiQ

I feel kinda inadequate asking this, but are these Bluetooth compatible or just corded? Thanks in advance.

Like most of AKGs lineup you need an amp. I recommend the behringer ha400. You can also use it to compare different headphones and it's price to performance is great.
