Not bad, not fantastic either. Lacks bass and punch. Quite comfortable. They are uninteresting on a phone, a bit better with an amp. I have heard 30 $ headsets with a better sound.

Forge_WelderHello, I liked the Koss KPH30i Headphones sound better by example. No idea for gsp 300, I cannot help, sorry. I own a pair of Sennheiser momentum on ear, and I have yet found nothing that competes in punch on the whole spectrum for use with a phone. No amp needed, nearly undestructible and a sound that leaves you jaw open in pure bliss. Funny enough they seem unknown arround here. I use them as reference. Compared to these, the musical experience on the AKG 220 would get only 1 star, the koss 2 or three stars, a plantronics blackbeat pro 4 stars, and the momentum 5 stars. I would like to try the HD 5xx or HD6xx but it seems they need an amp, and now I have lost trust in that review and star system on massdrop, so i would have to physically test one from the serie before buying anything. Whatever the tests or curves say the AKG 220 are not flat. They are deficient in bass and in far tremble. I tried to correct them using an equalizer like neutralizer, but it does just make a poor lazy bass louder, not better. It feels like being at the farther seats of a concert, as opposed to first ranks. This said, I am not an audiophile, whatever that means, I do not care if the sound is "true" or not. I just like to trip on the music I listen, have a bass that makes my headbones vibrate (as should bass do) , mediums with a clear definition and trembles that slice air. Hope I helped.

JmsaingeryThese are studio headphones, they are meant to have a flat response for reference listening... that means you get close to the actual recorded sound without added tricks.

batastropheI read you, but the description of the product does not talk at all about what you just said. So no I did NOT buy studio headphones.
