I dont like these xXX products because there is no way to compare price. You really dont know if your getting a good deal.
you don't need to compare it to itself price wise. It can be compared to other amps around the same price, a better determiner of value. If a 1000$ amp was only as good as a different companies $200 amp, lowering priceto$500 doesn't makeitgooddeal
Well, the one thing we do know, is that his other stuff is really expensive and from what I've read, really good. If we can get close to the expensive really good, for a fraction of the price, then YEAH! Still, need more info.
We can all bask in the reflection of his REALLY EXPENSIVE stuff! Haha.
I've gotten more info, and I'm gonna wait for the"peoples" review. I wish it didn't have an xlr, or it was balanced. I'm not spending a bunch of money on xlr cables for all my phones, and I'm not going to use 3.5. In my opinion, those were bad design choices, unless Md wants to sell a bunch of xlr cables. The mark up on those are huge. My Father was a buyer and designer and told me that If you wanted to understand something , "Follow the money". It's a business.
As for the sound, Im quite sure that the tube has very little influance, but if the ss is warm and has all the characteristics of a good amp, I would like one. I believe its hard to find a warm ss,(or hybrid), but if you or anyone else has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Perferably 1/4 trs with preout. Thanks.
Ps. Most warm amps that I've found are vintage. Whats up with the treble blasters, V's, and U's? (Source, headphones or amps.)
