I've heard that otl tube amps are good for high impedence headphones, such as 6xx or hd800, but less so far headphones that are low impedence, yet hard to drive, such as Fostex T50rp. Is that also the case for these hybrid amps? My current headphones are Sony XB1000, which are pretty hard to drive for being 32ohm, so I'm curious if this amp would be a good pairing. The main thing I want the amp to do is bring vocals slightly more forward, as they feel somewhat recessed with my current setup. Any advice would be appreciated!

derhpBecause hybrid amps use solid state to deliver the power with low output impedance it isn't picky about the headphones you use. Personally I prefer using an equalizer like APO with the peace pluggin to modify the sound signature. Using an equalizer you're in complete control of the modifications. Plus it's free. Using a tube you're kind of just stuck with whatever coloration it adds. It may fix/improve one thing but it can also wreck other things at the same time.
