My headphones came with no documentation or booklets in the box. No owner's manual or warranty info; just headphones, cable, and ear cups. Is this normal?
These have much less pronounced Beyer Highs, especially if you listen to heavy music, these are better, more pleasant sound
The impedance on 177x is lower, 32 vs 250 ohms on 1770, so they are much easier to drive and wont require a amp, but I would still recommend having one with a dac, to make them sound better
These have less accessories than 1770, these only come with 1 cable, 2 pads, while the 1770 come with a case,2 cables and 2 pads

And well because 1700 pro are made for studio professionals, not really to carry around and use with a phone :D
Masarakshno no, I have the 1700 and 177x, they are pretty much identical in build quality, the only noticeable difference is that 1700 have much more clamping force, which can be both good and bad tbh
MasarakshIf you don't need to drive a pair of headphones with your phone or portable 'pod, hi-Z models are superior. If you are going to use these cans with portable devices, 32 Ohm models are among the best-sound you are able to get. I have used both DT770 pro 250 Ohm and 32 Ohm. The 250 has a little something else, while both are great.
Phantom_Nyan[Serious] Any reason why someone would spend $450 to pre-order the Massdrop collab versus ordering the genuine 1770 PRO's on Amazon for $430?
l_ftI know I harp on this point, but many Amazon sellers peddle used, grey market, or counterfeit goods. A warranty applies only if you purchase new headphones from an authorized vendor; the BD website has a list of official US dealers.
BTW, why is the Drop warranty only one year? The BD factory coverage is two years.
MasarakshNo, so long as the output impedance of whatever is driving it is lower than the impedance of the headphones, if so, it will require slightly less power to drive that the 1770 Pro which I own. The 32 ohms is more in line with plugging into low-power portable devices which usually have a low output impedance. This in combination with headphones that are slightly higher impedance than the output of a headphone amp will make the best use of the often, low power. The only time 32 ohms would be a problem is if the output impedance of what is driving it is higher than 32 ohms in which case you would get some attenuation across the audio band but more attenuation in the high frequencies. A lot of component preamps have at least a 100-ohm output impedance which would not be a good match. I'm sure someone makes an RCA to Headphone jack kluge but not a good idea with these headphones. The output impedance of a tube preamp would be worse still. The impedance of these is close to ideal for portables as I mentioned before. The impedance of the 1770 Pro would work in all kinds of scenarios.
If I were to get these, it would be for use with my smartphone or laptop. What would be really nice in either case would be a headphone cord that has a high-quality DAC/headphone amp built in and has only a USB C or Lightning connector.
Answer. Right here. Drop refunded as soon as I returned them. Brett in support was great! Missed the drop to reorder so haunting the site to replace or find a different pair. Love open back headphones, but love the closed back sound. Must resist the CX's...
