Sennheiser sound inside Beyerdynamic body
I'm big fan of both Sennheiser and Beyerdynamic. This DT177x essentially combines the best of both worlds: a Sennheiser-ish sound signature driven by Beyerdynamic's Tesla technology, thanks to its adjusted frequency response. Before buying these cans I mainly used HD6xx for classical music and DT770Pro for everything else. After a few weeks of listening and comparison, I was surprised to find the DT177x to be a great replacement for my HD6xx, rather than the DT770Pro. The DT177x does not have the crazy treble that is typical on most Beyerdynamic headphones. Instead the sound signature focus more on the mid and bass, making it a good choice for classical music. I also conducted a/b testing between DT177x and DT770Pro with Kpop/Jpop music but still preferred the DT770Pro for its brighter presentation of female voices. Of course these conclusions are totally subjective and purely based on my personal preference.
I like the build quality of the headphones themselves, but feel a little disappointed with the quality of the supplied cable. I think I'll probably need to get third-party cables like many other reviewers did already.
Would recommend to a friend.
Can you please make a comparison for punchy electronics, like Crystal Method or Prodygy?
