igobybig3I have k712s and I love them though I listen through a much different setup ( Cambridge audio DAC magic plus into a Yulong A28). I haven't tried 770's or these newer 1770's, but I would say no. These are a closed back headphone and will deliver a much different sound signature than your K7XX. Save your money and unless you specifically want a closed back can. Also closed headphones aren't the best for gaming as explosions or heavy bass and low mids can hide footsteps and other noises to help differentiate enemies. I use my K712s or even sennheiser 598s for gaming.

igobybig3For gaming you're already golden with the 7XX (That's what I use). These are closed, so it's pros can be utilized elsewhere. I think these would only come in handy for video games is if you don't wan't your games sound to leak.

igobybig3Not worth the upgrade IMO. These were designed for studio engineers and recordists.

igobybig3If you're using them at the computer, the 7xx is a really nice set and honestly going to be hard to get a serious upgrade from UNLESS YOU'RE ALL ABOUT BASS which I am in which case a LOT of closed sets will sound better to you.

igobybig3If you're all about bass, the th-x00 or tr-x00 are head and shoulders above these, as are the HA-SZ2000
