I'm not suggesting that people buy the 177x, but if you do, plan on buying the Hart Audio Cable. The stock cable is so bad, that I feel like the cable swap is required. Been using the Hart cables for a while now and really like it. I went with custom color and length and the price was reasonable and I received them quickly. I've talked a bit with the guy that sells them. He's prompt to respond and easy to talk to. It's a new company, so there isn't much info out there.

jruserYeah the stock 177X cable simply SUCKS - it's one of the few headphones that I can't stand the stock cable. Another option (again) for cables is Impact Audio Cables on Etsy. The shop was closed for almost a year, but as of about a month ago has opened back up and looks like the time off was well spent setting up to make things even better. Just realized last week it was opened back up - glad I held off on some cables I was thinking of getting from OIDIO sound (because they were the closest thing to Impact Audio Cables.) Lindsay does top quality work and can make fully custom cables basically however you want - you can specify the length, splitter, connectors, and color of each of the 4 paracord sleeves. Love the cables because they are so light and soft/flexible and absolutely beautiful - still have the ones I had made for an HD700 and the Monoprice M1060s... fit a detachable cable modded TH-X00 I have. I don't have a need for balanced, so for the 177X I went ahead and asked for a custom one based off the AKG cable and gave the pin-outs as found with multimeter on the stock cable for the 4-pin mini XLR to TRS plug. Will be using the new Eidolic 4-pin mini XLR and 6.3mm TRS single ended gunmetal finished connectors and 8ft length cable with one pair of the strands in black and the opposite pair in silver grey to better match with the headphone.

VRacer111And here's the Impact Audio cable I had made for the 177X:

Think I may want a short length one terminated in 3.5mm TRS for portable use... but not a priority right now. Will say the 177X with the leather pads and custom attenuator inserts plugged into the Project Ember tube amp (with a JJ 12BH7-A tube) fed by the Gustard X20U DAC and some EQ adjustment is just WOW in the separation/layering depth department along with an absolutely beautiful extremely clean & punchy low end.

jruserHow long does it take for Hart Cables to get back to you. I emailed them and no reply. Also not much in stock. Are they still in business?
