I'm here to talk about my longer-term impressions, and they're... mostly honestly really positive. This is a better pair of headphones than I would have expressed AT ALL when I got them new. Treble was always good, but polite. That was a strong suit out of the box, clear, precise, not fatiguing. Mids, likewise, remain great. It's nice to have a set where they're strongly represented. Every once in a while I'll be like "Ugh this sounds muddy" and then I'll go test on speakers and be like "OK no that sound engineer should be SHOT if they legitimately thought this was fine". Mid bleed in my recordings? It's more likely than you think. Bass: Bass is good. Bass and sub-bass were the biggest changes from out-of-the-box - it's a MUCH MUCH MUCH warmer set than I thought it would be when I first started listening to it. they're STILL a little uneven at 20 Hz, it's something about the design, but around 25 they're solid and sound great. Bass is warm and well-represented. I'm happy. TL;DR: I gave my pair of TH-x00 to my friend and after these broke in, I'm no longer heartbroken. They're good headphones. Oh, and the frame is just fantastic.

chintiminI feel like mine just continue to improve as well. Bass improved, soundstage opened up and treble got even smoother. They’ve been sounding nice in the office.

chintiminMy only issue with them is this kind of coarse texture in some vocals in some recordings, perhaps due to a mixture of some type of peak/dip causing distortion and the recording itself.

bcaulfHappens for me as well. Certain tracks (not all) with harsher male vocals do the same thing for me on these headphones. And not always throughout the whole recording either, just in certain places.

v0od0oWonder if the sheepskin pads make a difference in eliminating this “grain”. Happens with some cymbals too, but again, not always.

bcaulfI use the sheepskins exclusively so I can’t say if the grain is reduced compared to the velours but like I said before I notice it as well so the pad change may not make much of a difference, if any. Maybe I will pad swap later and see if I hear a difference with some of the tracks that really highlight the issue.

chintiminDId you end up getting a new pair after you reported the rattle/flutter sound coming out of the left cup? I'm having the same problem with my new set.
