Really nice headphones
An upgrade from my Sennheiser HD 6XX. Good build quality, comfortable, durable and fits my head well. Have spent entire days with them on and havent been uncomfortable. Downsides are they kinda lack bass and the overall music experience is honestly less enjoyable than the sennheisers, This is through a decent DAC and PC. Im sure I can mess around with eq to make this better but for youtube and movies they work great. Probably used these for more than 2000 hours and no complaints so far. velour ear pads still clean and look like new apart from being a little squished.
Overall pleased with my purchase. Get these if they're on sale.

fewstrSo are they better than the 6xx? I just got and I run them through Schiit Heresy amp and they are amazing for gaming.

schobes625It’s always a matter of personal taste, but I think the 177X are much better than the 6xx.

schobes625I have both (2 yrs for 6xx, 1 month for the 177x). My 6xx is my go-to for gaming. The open back is superior for detecting and locating movement around you. However; they drive the wife nuts when she is in the same room. Having closed back cans solves that issue, plus the lows are far superior in the 177X Gos. They have different use cases, but they are both fantastic for the price. 6xx for gaming (or non-sharing while gaming) and 177x for music. Feel fortunate for having both.
