Are there any Canadians that have joined this drop? I am worried that CBSA will seize this knife under our knife laws? Flippers, and even Benchmade's axis lock can make this prohibited due to one-handed opening ability. I am not 100% clear on this, hence my question. Does anyone have experience with actually receiving this knife? In Canada?
Horse96I haven't bought this particular knife but I'm Canadian and I've bought several knives from Massdrop with ZERO Issues in receiving my knives. Two of them were much bigger then this knife. One was a Gerry Mcginnis Rowdy and my last knife was the Gavko Thresher witch definitely looks like a knife that would get turned away or even seized. The best news of all if you don't already know is Massdrop has a policy that you ether get the knife you payed for or you get your money back. Full Refund! 😆In regard to your chances of actually receiving your knife I feel there good. Including the two knives I already mentioned I've bought a FF/Falcon twice and I bought a FF/Gent so that makes 5 out of 5 times I received my knife and without any worry about whether I was going to get screwed over by the Border. Good luck 👊😎
T.willyThank you so much I was unaware of massdrop policy and I actually have the crux/gent/boker plus all waiting for a pickup and it's driving me nuts. I can't wait. I ordered a inexpensive Kershaw emerson from them after those orders and as you said no problem. I thank you for your time and want those 2 knives you just mentioned so with what I know now I can enjoy my knife without waiting months.
CanadianedgeNot a problem I was happy to help. I lost a Gerry Mcginnis Proline Mini Exo this time last year do to the BS at the Border and for months all I could do was drool at all the amazing modern folders I didn't dare order for fear of it happening again. Then I heard of Massdrop and there cool policy. Now I tell every Canadian Knife Knut I know about them. I'm one of Massdrops best advertisers I bet. For the Canadian market at least. 😉
Horse96I have had zero issues with receiving flipper or even assisted knives from Massdrop. I have purchased over 10 flippers from Massdrop including this knife, which is easily one of my all time favourites. I want to get a few more of these actually.
I have had a Griptilian confiscated by CBSA a few years ago but that was shipped from BladeHQ. I no longer ship flippers or assisted knifes from online USA ‘knife’ retailers but I still order these from Massdrop.
Horse96Man, feel sorry for you Canadians. And I though us Australians have it bad. At least we can legally have axis locks from Benchmade. Like I mean, what is wrong with opening with one hand... it is the intention of the user. Even worse, is that a criminal can just use a normal fixed blade, isn't that worse.. that is always on the go and ready for use.
lxchinOh your absolutely correct and regarding Canadian Customs once in Canada you can drive 10 minutes from any of the US/CANADIAN border crossings and find a store selling the exact same knife because there not legally band in Canada. Unfortunately the powers that be has given permission to the Customs Officers to seize just about any knife they feel fits there insanely vague set of restrictions. It's the biggest crock of S#!T I've ever heard of. Hopefully the protest and petitions against this 3 ring circus will make a difference but I'm not holding my breath. 😨 ✌
