dealaholicAssuming the knife is up to Zinker construction QA, absolutely yes. A D2 composite or CPM154 Leek goes for $65-75 USD, so we're talking about a 30% upgrade.
I love my CF Leek but there are problems.
First, if you get anything but the base 12C28N, the Leek's tip is crazy fragile
Second, the Leek's QA, especially on heat treat, isn't all that great. I've had 2 CPM154 Leeks and the edge retention was notably different. Not to mention that the grind on the first one was a good .5mm off center, and not at all straight. And neither is anywhere close to the edge retention of my Bark River.
For the most part the liner lock is fine, it does get a bit stubborn only once in a while.
The biggest advantage of the positron over the Leek is that the handle scales have a bit more volume making it more secure/comfortable to hold.
JonasHeinemanI just got mine - outstanding! Thanks for doing this! It looks and works great, and it’s the first knife in my entire collection which I didn’t have to switch the clip over for lefthand carry! Finally I don’t feel like I’m an after-thought!
JonasHeinemanI ordered one in CF the first day they were available. I'll let you know when it arrives! Thank you for making these available for us lefties Jonas!
Just a reminder that all flipper style knives are illegal to import into Canada. The CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency) will confiscate any flipper knives as prohibited weapons (Custome Notice 18-01, Section 2b).

Before you guys put this into production, can you make the choil just a tiny bit bigger so it works as a finger choil? It’s a glaring flaw in an otherwise perfect knife.
Many thanks.
OmniseedI was more thinking about when I had to unpack a bunch of boxes quickly and the plastic shrink wrap would end up getting caught in the chocolate. It was a pain in the ass. I don't like finger choils on folding knives, they don't serve that much extra utility for the amount of blade lost.
Hey everyone,
This knife represents another first for our Massdrop knife collaborations, in that we have never before released the same model in both frame lock and liner lock styles. This idea was inspired by Brad's own custom knife lineup, in which he frequently offers the same style of knife both with and without handle scales.
Aside from the addition of the liner lock style, another similarity between these production knives and Brad's custom creations is the materials used for the scales: G-10, carbon fiber, and rosewood. While he does use G-10 and carbon fiber quite often, Brad is more likely to use jigged bone or antler on his custom knives. That's not feasible in a production setting, but we have added another natural material instead - the rosewood scales that have been very popular on the Gent Select and Kabuto folders.
Brad has been great to work with and it's always a pleasure to visit his table at shows. Here's a photo of us checking out the Dogtooth frame lock production samples at GX (the USN's 10th annual Gathering) in Las Vegas last month.

As always, a few housekeeping notes before we get started:

* Serial numbers will only appear on units ordered during this pre-production drop.
* Serial numbers will be randomly distributed, with no reference to the order/time that you join the drop.
Carry On -- Jonas
PS - Some of you may have seen that Brad is based in Florida, which just got hit by Hurricane Michael. We've been checking in with Brad - he and his family are okay. Our thoughts are with those who are in affected areas.
JonasHeinemanWhat kind of threadlocking agent will be used on this knife if at all? I had a very unpleasant experience with the terzuola knife drop also manufactured by WE knives which ended in a knife stuck mid-assembly when all I wanted to do was remove a pocket clip and ended up stripping screws
There are 165 days until 29th March 2019.
Full stop. Hard pass, you guys shouldn't make this into a go-fund-me. You want to collect $120,000 a full 5 months+ in advance? Really?
I was was wondering why I could get the Titanium frame lock right now and have to wait 5 months for a G-10. I guess I am going to take my chances. A serial number doesn't matter to me unless it was a limited edition. My blue Titanium Dogtooth frame lock and Keshaw Leek CF should tide me over until then.
Update
I was right! They were offered after the drop shipped and as hard as it was, I resisted buying the CF and Orange liner locks. So many knives, so little disposable income. :-(
I'm also one that's very keen for this knife, but the fact that it doesn't ship till mid next year really is a deal-killer for this one! Great to get something a few steps above the Leek but without speedsafe so that it can be allowed in Australia,
The knife is amazing and well priced.. but that lead time is just massive! Just announce it closer to the ship date or something!
Maul3rCome back in April next year, it will be available and ship straight away. A few weeks after the first batch gets shipped out they always open a drop back up again (on their collaborations).
Maul3rI feel for you guy's down under and my Brethren in Canada and elseware who have Government agencies trampling on your rights. I'm glad the US doesn't right now but, that could change.
ManaScreamThat would be absolutely righteous, and the Dogtooth tang already overlaps the stop pin when opened, so having the tang slightly longer there shouldn't cause any problems. And the jimping is perfect, it wouldn't need a lot of metal to create a workable tab.
