Tiny quibbles only: I got the brown pair and there was a bit of sloppiness on the finishing where the counter meets the heel. That said, the shoes are beautiful and comfortable. The finishing (other than my quibbles about the staining) is beautiful. Picked up a marron pair last time and came back for black. Far more comfortable than my Allen Edmonds and even more comfortable than my Magnannis (which is impressive given the Bologna construction they use). One suggestion: because the JR soles are so durable, flush mounted metal toe plates are worth considering if you wear heavily on your toes like I do. This both extends the longevity of the soles but, perhaps more importantly on a pair of shoes like this, can protect the welt and thus the longevity of the shoe itself. Also, as per other reviews I've read, it is true that Carminas come with very little in the way of polish on them. Would be a good idea to polish them more frequently early in their lifespan.

More than satisfied with the pair I've received. I'm usually a US 8.5 - 9 when buying sneakers so that's a UK 7.5/8 but I went with UK 7.5 for this. It is ALMOST a perfect fit. The heel area is a little wide for my feet but other than that, I have no complain. I guess its just the way the last was built. Note: I have another Carmina Shoes in the Rain last in UK 7 and they were really tight at the toe box and hence, I decided to go for 7.5 UK

I’m very happy with these shoes and with the Rain last. Slightly roomier than the forest last, these shoes fit great out of the box and the JR soles are incredible. The toe box shape is also outstanding. Highly recommend.
