I just received my X-mid today and set it up in my backyard. The ease of setting this tent up is unreal. I had it up in a couple minutes, ready to sleep in. But when I opened the outer vestibule, the no-see-um mesh had quite a few areas where the mesh was damaged. That's where I have to knock off a star. It'll still keep out pesky mosquitos and probably most other insects but it is very noticeable. Hey Dan, Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried and all but one of the damaged mesh areas came back. I did not know that was a thing but now I know and I added a star back. 5 out of 5 from me.

TapiokahpuddinSorry to hear about the mesh damage. Obviously I don't know what it looks like, but often these are pulls in the mesh that actually come out quite easily if you scratch them with a fingernail. MSR has a video showing this here: https://youtu.be/maaChyqfyaA?t=47 A common culprit with creating pulls in the mesh is velcro. It's possible with any tent that has velcro, for that velcro to wind up against the mesh when packed up and then the velcro can cause pulls. With the X-Mid, since there is velcro to close the vents it is ideal to pack it up with the vents closed to avoid the risk that the velcro comes in contact with the netting when it's packed up. But pulls can happen for a variety of reasons and if they do they usually are reversible. If your mesh has substantial damage, then it would be good to talk to Massdrop about a replacement.

TapiokahpuddinI also noticed that the mesh on my unit seemed to be damaged. I will try the suggestion also. Though I did scrape it with my nail and didn't see a change. Beyond that the unit was well made. Excited to take it out this summer.
demeulenaereMesh pulls like the one below should come out if you scratch them with a fingernail in the direction shown. You do need to push a little bit hard. The pulls can come back because there isn't damage to the actual strands, the weave is just misaligned.
