Hey there Dan,
I was wondering, how easy is it to pitch just the inner portion of the tent if you are expecting nice clear skys and just want some bug protection?
Cheers.
SchubieHi Schubie,
It's very easy. Basically you remove the peak guylines off the fly and tie them to the inner peaks. Then just stake the four corners of the inner, add the poles to the guylines (a clove hitch works nicely) and stake those guylines.
You can see a picture of just the inner pitched here:

dandurstonCheers, i figured you had posted pictures of it somewhere in the discussion here, but couldn't find it.
I appreciate the time you take to answer all the questions here, I am looking forward to getting mine in the spring :)
dandurstonAnother question, when you get a chance, would you be able to show how much space would be available inside at the head or foot end with a 'regular' size x-therm in there (183cm one). I know that would leave at most about 36cm in there, but i am having a hard time visualizing it. Just trying to get an idea of how cozy it will be with me an my dog in there.
Thanks :)
SchubieHere's the interior shown with a standard size pad (50 x 183 cm). I've shown it in the center and then jammed off to the end, although you wouldn't want to jam it quite this close to the end since there is a little end wall slope:

I've slept in mine with my dog, but my dog is small (15 lbs). If you're dog was substantially bigger you'd either need to put it in the vestibule or get cozy.
Cheers.
