Hi, dan. I ordered the tent this time.  I have a few questions. I have Black diamond distance z trekking poles 110cm length. First, Can I use them for x-mid? If the 110cm length is not suitable, I would like to buy a carbon-trekking pole with adjustable length. And What do you think of the durability of carbon trekking poles compared to aluminum? I have a footprint for another tent with very light weight. It is 80 cm in width and 202 cm in length. The weight is only 160g. Can I use it in this tent? I want to protect the tent regardless of the ground condition such as wooden deck, grass, small stone. I am glad to see your answer.

Eungwang110cm is too short. You could put a rock or shoe under the pole to lift it up 5-8cm but it's not a good long term plan. To make the 110cm pole work, you could get some tubing that fits onto the tip. About 10cm piece will make the pole long enough, and then you could pitch it with the handle up. If you do buy other poles, both carbon and aluminum are strong enough if you buy the right poles (e.g. not too skinny). Carbon is more expensive but lighter. You can buy 48" carbon poles here, or $48 aluminum poles here. Yes you could use that footprint. It would be a little wide (80cm vs 75cm) and a bit short but it would work pretty well for the main sleeping area. You may want to find a way to attach it to the floor at some of the corner so it says in place.

dandurstonOh, I'm sorry. I need some your advises. Black Diamond Distance Carbon Z and FLZ are very lightweight. Z 120cm is 285g and FLZ 105-125cm is 360g. These are things that you said 'not too skinny'?  I am very concerned about the durability of these trekking poles. Weigh a little more, but would not it be better to choose an aluminum trekking pole?

EungwangThese poles are strong enough. The carbon poles are good. I use ones carbon ones that are even lighter: https://www.gossamergear.com/collections/trekking-poles/products/lt5-three-piece-carbon-trekking-poles-pair When I said "too skinny" I mean when some people make their own poles from really skinny tubing meant for tent pole. Any hiking poles are strong enough.
