Yeah, order sent! 😀 From earlier reading in the comment section, I thought this next batch wasn't going to be shipped until sometime in the beginning of 2020! This is awesome, now I can test out the outer tent as a winter tent already during the coming winter. If it's working as well as I hope, this will save me so much weight!

LightDanThis was something I was particularly excited for as well! Definitely going to be an ultralight winter tent. I just hope I can get the walls close enough to the ground to keep drafts out while still maintaining a good pitch for snow shedding.

LightDanI have had an opportunity to test it a few nights in light snow now. The first night, it was set up without the guy lines and it sagged 4-6 inches mid roof after a snowfall of less than an inch of wet snow, but it stay taut if the guy lines is used, I wouldn't trust it in anything but fair weather camping without them, but with them, it seem very sturdy and stable. The inner tent is on the short side with an inflatable sleeping pad and winter sleeping bag, but the plan is to use just the fly and a light bivy on winter trips, which would give me plenty of space for me and my dog at a very low weight.

Outbound_JesseAs long as there is snow when you go to bed, you can just dig snow up to the walls to cover any cracks between the wall and the ground. Using a bivy to protect against drifting snow in hard winds and also to gain a few degrees of warmth. The vents have no protection, snow will blow straight in, unless the vents is closed, which in itself can be dangerous in a tent where the lower portion is sealed shut by snow as I mentioned earlier.
