I have been looking into hot tents ever since my I'll fated winter campouts in Algonquin park last February. would this model be at all suitable for a hot tent conversion? I am of course aware that installing a silicone or fiberglass valve for a stove pipe would void the warranty etc. Just want to know if it's at all viable given size and material.

SmallchangerainGreat question. Short answer is "probably". Longer answer is that I've actually been working on this for myself. I've got a 12" TiGoat cylinder stove and I recently ordered a stove jack and some extra poly material (to make a floor). I'm going to sew a floor that occupies 3/4 of the fly, leaving just one vestibule without a floor. Then I'll add the stove in that vestibule and run the pipe out the end wall. I'm not sure that's the best setup though. It's also tempting to just use the stock inner and leave both vestibules so you can have the stove in one and then easily enter/exit through the other. By making a floor, I can do either. So yes it looks like it'll work. I might end up angling the pole near the stove a bit for more clearance but I don't see any major issues.

dandurstonThat's awesome thank you for the response. could you please share the final results when you finish? Also have you considered making this hit tent mod a stock model?

SmallchangerainI'll try to remember to come back here and share. I know for sure I'll have pictures on my Instagram once it's done. Probably a few weeks until it's ready. I don't think that Drop would be interested in making a stock run of the hot tent version because it's much more of a niche product, and Drop needs to order in large quantities to meet minimum order requirements. You're actually the first one to ask about it after 1.5 years and 2.1k comments.

SmallchangerainSCR, I got that hot tent setup ready! I sewed a stove jack into the end wall, and built a bathtub floor that clips in. It would work fine with the stock inner too, but this was a spare fly that I had that isn't quite the same dimensions as the stock fly so the inner doesn't fit right, thus I made the bathtub floor. I'll give it a maiden voyage this weekend.
