They have a full and solid cup that blocks some outside noise and prevent sound from leaking out. The sound also bounces of the cups and creates its own sound signature.

In short, it's a membrane made of natural fibers that is much thinner than paper. They use it for burn treatments in place of skin as well.

Google it, but my best guess is a natural cellulose diaphragm. Paper?

I use them directly from my phone. I’m sure you *could* use an amp but you absolutely don’t need to.

They aren't a "clone", but EM-U is a subsidiary company of Creative. The Aurvana Live and E-MU Purplehearts utilise the same Foster driver, but the internal dampening and tuning is different between these two headphones.

Are these a clone of the old version of the Creative Aurvana Live headphones? They look just like my old CAL headphones. Same headband and cup shape, speaker/earpad plate, cables, etc., just with a purpleheart backing.
