Product Description
Following the success of the Massdrop x Fostex TH-X00, we teamed up with another brand that Foster manufactures headphones for, E-MU Systems, to bring you a new pair of purpleheart headphones—this time smaller, lighter, and perfectly suited for on-the-go use. The Massdrop x E-MU Purpleheart features handcrafted solid wood enclosures and biocellulose drivers, like its full-size relative, with a more understated aesthetic and a warm, appealing, non-fatiguing sound ... A REMOVABLE-CABLE version of this headphone in a future drop would be nice.

Referral links only give you $10 off your next order, after your first purchase right? That's what I remember

Selling basically CAL!s for 75 $ on Massdrop is far from bergain. Also as a long time user of at least 2 pairs of Aurvena Lives, please believe me when I tell you that these will fell apart after few months if you use them as portables. These are not portable headphones.

I absolutley thought the same thing, having a set of Aurvana Lives myself. Except for the wood, its the same headphone. Just buy the SXFI amp and get a pair of them for "free".

I've had them for about a week now, and i've noticed that they are getting quite uncomfortable after abou 2h listening, are there replacement earcushion or however they are called, or do i need to stretch them somehow`?

That's one of the drawbacks of on-ear headphones. You could try aftermarket pads

That depends what you expect from headphones and how will you use them.

I just returned the SHP9500. I found them very thin sounding. Maybe i got a bad set, who knows, but I did not find them to be as good as most of the reviews for them are.

Considering I'm also looking for a truly portable DAC/AMP and people says these headphones are like Creative Aurvana Live, is a better choice to get the Creative SXFI + Aurvana SE for an additional $65??? SXFI is supposed to be able to drive high impedance headphones too.

Thank you for sharing. So, SXFI is not so good with high impedance headphones. Well, at least it can drive them. I guess with my Sennheiser HD 58X (150ohm) SXFI should provide a better experience.

I mean it works, but nowhere near as good as a desktop amp would for something with that high of an impedance. Honestly, i hardly everr us the Holographic sound option. I have tried it withbthe Meze 99 Noirs as well..works great for those. At this price and with it coming with a decent set of cans (the Aurvana SE is mostly plastic, but they sound way better than you think they would), you cant really go wrong.

Can anyone recommend a good case that would fit these headphones? I'm thinking of making these the headphones for my commute, but want to have a case to protect them if they aren't on my head. thanks in advance! As a note, like these quite a bit. Very easy to listen to. I listen to a lot of vocals, strings, piano, and horns (classical, jazz, pop) and not a lot of heavy bass. To mirror what others have said, to me these sound pleasantly warm with a good amount of detail and clarity, but not as much as some others. Despite some nit picking, it's a very pleasant listen for me for my typical music, but with quality and defined enough bass when it needs it.

I just realized these are essentially the Creative Aurvana Live, but much nicer looking. Makes me wonder about the build quality 🤔.
