Refusal to take responsibility.
Hi, Just thought I would make a note here of your handling of my issues. I ordered a pair of HD6xx headphones and then earlier today recieved the package. I drive to go and get it, as I like in the UK I had to pay import tax and handling fees. These total £47.92. The breakdown being £35.92 in tax and £12 in fees. These taxes were calculated of the shipping label of the box, which marked the shipment as the 6xx headphones of $199 value. Before leaving the parcel depot, I open the box to find a $35 lord of the rings mousepad. So now the problem is not only do I not have the headphones, but you have marked the shipment wrong so I have paid £47.92 fees for the handling of the mousepad. Which would have acrued £0 of fees if marked correctly as it is under £135. I go back to the desk but as I have already paid the fees I am unable to reject the shipment, but as the box said 6xx, there was no way for me to know before opening it. I contact support and they offer me a replacement, which...

Will hook it up later today and give it a listen.
Edit: FWIW, With less than two hours of listening on one headphone, Massdrop x Sennheiser 58x Jubiliee, Chain, PC+foobar FLAC music, mixed with some rando Youtube --> GustardX12 DAC --> Eddie Current ZDT Jr. There was some low level hum when the ZDT Jr was first powered up. It went away after the ZDT Jr got warmed up.
Tried the 58x on the high impedance jack. Bad call, a lot of bass was missing and the treble was very, very, bright, verging on painful.
Switched the 58x over to the low impedance jack. The treble is much less piercing and the bass returns. Music has a lot of thumpy bass, lower mids seem to have a liile bit of bass bloom. Mids are well presented, female vocals are very nice and smooth. Male vocals are equally well rendered. Treble seems to have some extra emphasis. On everything I have, treble is usually a non issue. My 65 year old ears that don't hear much of anything after 14 khz or so.
After 90 minutes or so... The bass seems to be better presented, less thumpy. There's more detail and more control. I'm wondering how much burn-in this amp will need.
The volume knob rotates from 7 to 5 o'clock. As I'm typing, the volume knob is between 10 and 11 o'clock, and the HD58x are playing at a decently loud level, upper 60s-lower 70s DB according to Sound Meter smartphone app. Turning the volume dial to 2-3 o'clock pushes the loudness to high 70s. Near max volume, at 3-5 o'clock there is some distortion in the sound, especially in the low mids and the bass.
These are initial impressions. Need to give this amp some more time.
Edit 2: Five, ten minutes with Massdrop x HIFIMAN HE4XX , Sounds pretty good, bass is very tight. mids are clear and spacious, treble is is nor overly bright. Volume knob turned to 12-1 o'clock for moderate volume levels. Volume knob over to max only gets a little bit louder. LOLs...
Edit 3: Its been a few days. Listening to my usual fare of KPop girl groups, oldies rock/pop, blues, Youtube vids, and streaming movies. The tubes are probably a lot of the way burned in now. Mostly on my HD58x or my HE4xx headphones. I like the ZDT Jr headphone amp quite a lot. The sound is smooth and clear. There's a good amount of bass, pretty well extended. The tiny bit of bass bloom in in the low mid-range is gone or I got used to it. The mids are great, vocals from all genres, male and female are well presented. I still think treble is slightly on the bright side, but it's still smooth. It's more of a concern when the volume is way up. The slight hum, I used to hear is just gone. In between tracks there's nothing much going on. I must have lost my mind, got some tubes coming in to roll. Should keep me busy for the next few months...
Edit 4: I rolled some different driver tubes, GE 5 Star 5664/6AK5W equivalents. The obvious initial impression is that the treble is a bit less bright than the stock tube . LOLS
Edit 5{ I guess the ZDT Jr continues to burn in. Over a hundred hours listening to music, movies, Youtube talking heads. I thought the hum I was hearing on day 1 was gone. But the hum has returned and it is now audible while listening to music. I was doing all my listening with my recently purchased Senn HD58x Jubilee on the LOW headphone output. After a brief check, I also hear hum on the HD58x on the HIGH headphone output. It's very puzzling. I'm writing it off as an impedance mis-match and call it a bad pairing. I switched over to my Focal Elex on the ZDT JR. and the hum is gone. BTW, the ZDT Jr. and the Elex sound great together. For me the Elex sounds good with everything I use it on. LOLS
