Cking96I have both and when paired it’s “too warm” if such a thing. At least for me... I wouldn’t use this combo for general listening. I find the E-MU teaks are already a warm and mid/treble forward headphone. It’s low impedance makes it a fine pair with portable solid-state or even better, hybrid portable units. I’ve found great enjoyment by using my Teaks with my XDuoo XD-03 with Burson v5i OpAmp upgrade. They also sound fantastic with the Fostex HP-V1 hybrid or even straight out of my AP200 (or HiByMusic R3) DAP. Honestly, my Teaks haven’t been used much with any of my desktop gear - they get carried around the house with a portable stack.
Back to the amp - it seems to pair best with mid/high impedance Dynamic Drivers. The ZDT jr. sounds wonderful with Senn HD58X, HD600, HD650, and HD6XX. I’m still looking for a good planar pairing - I’ve been using the MD x Mr.Speakers Ether CX’s to good effect. And I’ve been fiddling with the Verum One which is a strange 8ohm impedance planar - but hey, they’re both Russian, right?
