WLVACan the Revelation be used as a clothing layer, as depicted in this video? (This video is on the drop for the original Massdrop quilt.) It's kind of nerdy and kind of nifty. Still, as I learned to say after enduring some upper Midwest winters: warm is beautiful.
That video states that using the quilt as clothing may work only for waists up to 33" or so. But won't the drawstring at the foot open up close to the entire width (which is at least 40")?
WLVAYes, it can be used as a clothing layer around camp. The Revelation will be more flexible / accommodating than the Massdrop quilt was, due to the shape and zipper.
WLVAHey there, I'm the nifty nerd who made the video. 😉
Measure your hips at the widest part, usually halfway down your bum.
Hips often measure larger than your waist line. As an example my waist is 30" but my hips measurement is 34".
The bottom foot end of the quilt measures 40" or 42" depending on which size you order. If your hips measure equal or less than that, well then you can pull the bottom of the quilt up around your waist.
If your hips exceed 40/42" then you can always wear the quilt long around your ankles, OR just unzip the quilt entirely and wrap it around yourself and put a wind/hardshell on.
Does that ramble make sense?
