I have one of these quilts and was always getting cold on my backside when I turned over, as I do frequently. So I checked with EE about the straps. Turns out I didn't quite understand how the straps work. The top one loops around the pad and you can slide the connectors so the quilt is tucked under you. The bottom strap just goes under the pad. The EE video on how to put them on is https://support.enlightenedequipment.com/hc/en-us/articles/218674147-Pad-Straps
I have a 30 degree EExMassdrop and have had to wear a base layer when it has been pretty cold. Definitely a step up from my 47 year old synthetic CampTrails bag. But I can through that thing in the washer. Great for son at Scout Camp.

DismalDaveI'm replying to myself. A little different from the voices ;) Both Massdrp and EE send the quilts with two different straps. One strap is a loop which goes around your pad with two connectors that slide along that loop. This allows you to have the connectors come under you. The other connector is a strap with connectors on each end. EE suggests either putting that under your pad, or just under you. I have found that when it's under the pad I get a bit of a draft on my back. I didn't try it just going under me, but above the pad, as I turn often at night. So, I checked about buying another strap from EE. The straps are $3. Not bad. The shipping is $6. Take that into consideration when ordering a MassdropxEE quilt. As far as warmth, I've used it at 8,800' under a tarp on snow (Mt Baldy) with a bit of a breeze and a lite snow over night. Wore base layers, fleece pants, jacket, and had hood and gloves on. Used klymit insulated pad with my ancient ensolite pad under that (R about 5.8). Was warm enough all night.
