Ugly, inefficient knife. You've got to be a fool to spend this much money on this knife.

WarkavenYou've got to be a fool to think $115 is an outrageous price for this particular knife, and a true simpleton to think that any price over $100 is unreasonable for any knife.
But I'm curious about what you think is so 'inefficient' about the design. Ugly I'll give you, it's very stylized and easy to see that it won't appeal to some, yourself included.
Reverse tanto/sheepsfoot-type blades are extremely practical and are well suited to a wide variety of real-life uses, they're just not made for stabbing people.

WarkavenGotta back Omni on this one. I don't think it looks inefficient, but would very much enjoy hearing why you do, in case it's for reasons I just hadn't thought of.
In regards to the price? For what it is it's certainly not overpriced. Size and materials, I can't picture them offering it any cheaper.
As for ugly.....agree to disagree 😁👍

Lol @ all the circle-jerking on massdrop, honestly please go ahead and buy these, I in no way feel bad when other people are busily getting their hands on knives not worth the money; and I love Chinese knives so this is not a bash on WE's quality in general.

Okay, maybe some offense 😂 Is there a reason you're linking to the same thing we've all been discussing for days? If you have something useful to add, say it. If not.... Well, worry about your own wallet, let others decide where their money is best spent

KavikIt's obvious Warkaven has no Idea about what makes a good knife and the actual price of a good knife. Prices all depend on the manufacturer. This knife offered could go for twice as much depending on who makes the knife. But for titanium scales, S35VN, and the nice touches such as gimping on the spine, custom clip, caged barings, AND anodizing depending on the model you choose. You can't beat the price. Plus it is developed by Ferum forge, and although not every knife they have produced I've liked, They are a good knife company. And to top the cake you have their designed being made by WE knives which is absolutely flooding the knife scene with some well made knives. And I personally think Todd begg giving training to the WE knife company has vastly improved what they have been able to do with knife quality and fit and finish .

Matthius

Mar 31, 2018
WarkavenPry bar? The knife is thin behind the edge, which on a thick knife stock is what you want. Not only will it be a good slicer, you have less of a risk of breaking the tip if you use it for more then just cutting or use it for hard cutting. As for rusting? learn your knife steels dude. All knives oxodize, if you get anything acidic on your blade you risk oxidization. Again, you're someone who doesn't know squat about knives, knife steel or even knife prices for that matter.

KavikI guess I probably shouldn't disclose what I paid for this WE Knife. 😬🤑 But it is at least M390 sandwiched into very skeletonized Ti. I should probably feel ripped that so much of the M390 and titanium was stolen out of each slab. What a ripoff. 😁
Actually people freak when I tell them what I paid for this little peanut sized GEC Beagle also. But will say that it is the absolute nicest Peanut I've ever had.

BflyingReally nice looking knives. I love WE Knives and Isham’s unique style is really starting to grow on me. That WE Pleroma is something I’ve been thinking about getting for a while now, along with ten or twenty other knives! It reminds me a little bit of another Isham design, the Abstruse. Unfortunately, my taste in knives keeps getting more and more expensive!

DougFLA123From a functional stand point, yes. But from the novelty and design aspect, I really like that they kept more of the large Kukri proportions. Funny you mentioned this though. Just the other day I realized that the handle was pretty close to the size of my little Spyderco Honey Bee....and shot these pics. 😂

BflyingThat’s funny! I didn’t realize how small the handle was until I watched some videos on it yesterday. I wish they made a full size Vaquita...really attractive knife. I started out collecting only fixed blade knives, because I thought they looked pretty bad ass, but once I realized how much fun it was to open and close manual flippers, I started collecting nothing but folders.

DougFLA123For practicality's sake, that would probably be helpful....but would ruin the the perfectly scaled down kukri look. Only problem now is.... If they ever make a full size version (probably at at 3x the cost), I'm gonna need the matching set 😂

As to the danger of that sharp edge near the finger choil on the vaquita...can confirm. That's going to be dangerous. Much safer use and better grip from the WindRunner. Solid 3 finger grip on the Tops, awkward 2 1/2 finger grip on the WE. One thing I wasn't expecting from the pics was this weird, sharp step down on the spine:
search
Not a huge deal, since it's certainly not a hard use knife that will see a tight grip with pressure on the spine lol just surprised me is all Neat little piece though, very well made. Will be keeping an eye out for the full size one, if that ever happens 😁

KavikNice! Interesting little Tops too. I like it. Some time I'll have to shoot a family pic of my pocket sized fixed blades. Not sure why I've been drawn to "back pocket" fixed blades. Jan 28, 2019
KavikI know it would ruin the scaled down look of the kukri, but the Vaquita is aching for a finger choil or a longer, thicker handle. It’s a beautiful little knife though, with a huge chunk of S35VN steel! Full tang! That’s a lot of S35VN! I read somewhere...maybe here, that someone ground down the blade and made a finger choil on the Vaquita. There is no way I could do that!
Kavik

Jan 28, 2019
DougFLA123I was already considering whether or not to increase the first finger groove. Even as little as an eighth of an inch could make a difference. Of course, the downside is that the edge is beadblasted, and down in that groove is where it's marked as s35vn, so doing so would lose the markings and the finish. I'm not rushing any decisions, but considering options

DougFLA123We'll see how it goes after playing with it for a while, but I'm making no promises 😜 If needed, I'll probably try just blunting the corner first before doing anything more extreme. And anyway....who says it can't be pristine and beautiful after being modified? If it's done well 😉 They're all tools man. Even if we baby some, and use some less often than others, they're no good if they can't be used (especially without hurting ourselves) if/when needed, right?

KavikTotally agree about that edge. It only really needed to have the plunge line come down in front of that point. Then would have carried the full width all the way through the choil. I don't think it would have affected the asthetics at all, and would have solved what I think is it's biggest issue. Also that cut on the thumb ramp should have been deleted. It doesn't bother me as much, but would definitely be more comfortable for use. Also would not have changed the look. Sometimes beauty lies not in what is added, but what is taken away. It could have been an amazing user. But nonetheless, it's the best looking letter opener I've ever had.

I discovered right away that I really dislike carrying anything of substance around my neck. So I pocketed a couple for a while. Soon discovered that I do like having a fixed blade around. After that I started fixed back pocket carry. Nothing expensive, nothing exotic. Just blades that piqued my interest for some reason or another.
