I just don't get it. For an extra 200$ the only upgrade is a damascus blade? The falcon was such a great deal at it's price point (maybe even the best). A price jump this much without any hardware upgrades is very difficult to justify (which the falcon already pretty much gets perfect for a production knife) Plus, the price jump makes no sense, without a good description of the damascus. Unless this is very special damascus, it just doesn't make sense. Maybe build a better story with detailed descriptions of how it was forged (like a video for Vegas Forge and their process, and detailed specs on the damascus composition, why this particular mix of AEB-L and 302 was chosen), otherwise based on price, these are the comparisons: Kershaw Skyline: 40$ regular/ 70$ damascus Boker Kwaiken in Ti handles: 140$ regular/280$ damascus Spyderco Delica: 70$ regular/ 80$ SS handle/ 180$ damascus-Ti handle Bear and Son Trapper: 40$ regular/ 100$ damascus Fox Terzula: 125$/ 270$ damascus Last note, GOOD JOB ON BRAND PLACEMENT!!!! The new massdrop logo is such a step up, please make this a standard for future runs on non-damascus blades.

method_burgerWhile I agree that the $200 price hike is unjustified. Most of the examples you're using are bad comparisons. Since all of those use different kinds of damascus. The SKyline uses carbon damascus, the Kwaiken and Delica use a VG10 laminate with almost straight lines which is a LOT cheaper, the Bear and Son carbon steel random pattern once again. The Terzuola is the only one that's kind of similar in that it's also stainless high grade stuff.

LX_EmergencyThat's exactly my point. "Proper" damascus is a labor and time consuming effort. Asides from a quick blurb about who made it and how, it doesn't really explain why this is special. The only difference between the damascus version and the regular version is literally the damascus. The majority of the description is pretty much a copy and paste of the original falcon, not highlighting arguably the only upgrade, which is the damascus. Now if they went on about how they 'forge-weld the layers together in a sealed canister' threw a video in there, the time it took to produce a billet, how they probably had to use a noble gas to seal the canister first before welding it, if they used a mix of powdered steel and/or sheets, etc. then this price point would make a lot of sense. But as it stands, this sounds like a 'run of the mill' damascus, and not, say a sebenza with a damascus upgrade (which properly mirrors the price hike)
