Greetings all:
I've got # 0382; arrived this past The.
And now I'm going to say something that might be unpopular: I don't really like this knife. Which bums me out, because I WANT to like it, I EXPECTED to like it, and I'm even actively TRYING to like it. But so far no luck. I Besides the issue of the clip--and boy does that clup suck--is the length of the handle. It a just a tiny bit too short for me, and I feel like I can't quite control the blade the way I want because of it. Yes, the choils are great for choking up, but I don't always want to do that.
The pic is of some knives I own with similar, though slightly longer, blades. I like all and love some od those knives and the way they feel in my hand, and seeing how close some if them are to the Falcon makes me wish that it had been made with a handle even just a quarter inch longer--it would completely change how I could grip the knife. In particular, check out the small Sabenza: the handle on that feels perfectly fine to me, and its so close to the Falcon's.
Maybe I'm being too picky, and I certainly wasn't expecting the world for >$130, but for the relatively short time I've been seriously knife-addicted I've leaned what I like, at least.
And that pocket clip...hoo boy...

HatuletohYou've got some great knives there. No knife is for everyone. The way you describe the grip, sounds like you may like the Crux a bit more with the slightly longer handle. The Falcon kind of reminds me of the Spyderco Chaparral, in that it just feels more natural to hold in the forward choil position.

HatuletohCan't see your pic... Agreed that a slightly larger version of this knife would be very nice, but i do still like it for a smallish knife that still has a decent size blade. Definitely better when choked up on it like you pointed out.
After a little more time playing with it, my only small complaint so far is the lock release. Edge is kinda sharp and the cutout to access the release could be just a hair deeper to allow better access to it (which would make the sharp edge less of a problem, or would allow some chamferring without worrying about slippage).

KavikHmmm...I wonder where it went. Well here it is again, except I realized this morning I'd made a serious omission...

Hatuletoh...That's the Tops Bahgdad Boxcutter I used this mornint to cut myself free from my own car seatbelt, whose release I couldn't reach after taking a driver's side hit from an SUV going 30-40 mph; I was in a Subaru Legacy sedan. It came in handy to chop away the curtain airbags, which deployed and partially blocked my exit out the window. I probably could have squeezed out w/o hacking the deflated bags, but by then I was kind of enjoying the rare chance to use a blade at full force w/o too much concern for precision. Didn't want to go out the passenger side because it was a busy street and traffic was still flowing in the other lanes, figured between my car and the one that hit me was the safest place to be.
So hooray for the small knife, it's ease of access, and it's utility in a confined space. And hooray for the fixed blade that is almost always within easy reach on my right hip--even something as easy as a digging into a pocket from a sitting position, and pressing the plunger button on a Protech would have seemed enormously complicated at that moment.
The haste turned out to be unnecessary, thankfully: there was no pooling gas under the car ready to EXPLODE in a dramatic burst of flame while I did an impression of Robert DeNiro getting blown out of a Caddillac at t's beginning of "Casino". But its easy enough to remember how improbable that would be from a simple collision when you're NOT futilely pawing around for the seatbelt release button.
And by some miracle, it was just me in the car: no kids, no dogs, no 93 yr old grandparents, no idiot friend who won't wear a seatbelt, no adolescent niece + teammates who needed a ride to soccer. For once, just me, and other than a headache, sore neck, and ringing left ear from the airbag explosion, I'm all right. And so was the other guy. So all things considered...hooray, and thank any and all Gods who helped with that outcome.

HatuletohDamn. glad to hear you are okay! Totalled a Subaru myself once, those things can take quite the beating and still let people walk away
Another great reason to always have a blade handy 👍 I keep scolding my dad... He has one of those emergency tools for cutting belts and breaking windows...... But i keep finding it way over in his glove box!
