That one thing that stopped me buying this was the brand etched onto the blade. And the dull blade finish a little. But hey I get that Massdrop are proud of their company and it was a collab? Ok, cool but guys you are not well known knife manufacturers or something that a customer would want on their product. Isn't this more about the customer? 'Massdrop' on the blade has killed my intentions of purchasing a few cool knives now. Don't get me wrong I thing Massdrop is great! I just don't feel the urge to put a large sticker on my car or a flag in my front yard about it

BenjaboolyIs Massdrop a knife manufacturer? Where is their factory? What values does their brand stand for? Massdrop span an almost innumerable number of brands which by definition dilutes their brand integrity. This knife's design and materials were already there, they just did a special production run for Massdrop as a client, no reason to put your name in gold above the factory entrance imo

BrennoYeah, but your car and house are always visible so that makes sense. The side of your folding knife really isn't comparable. How often are you showing it off that this is a deal breaker for you? You're also implying that it's not even the fact that something is etched on the blade but that it's their name specifically because "...not well known knife manufacturers or something that a customer would want on their product". So is this a bragging thing? Like you're OK showing off your knife if it has a well known knife maker on it but you'd be embarrassed if someone saw a company name that wasn't known for their knives?

BrennoInteresting thoughts from Michal Gavac of Gavko knives (designed the massdrop x Gavko Thresher) on this matter at the following link. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-eric-ochs-orca-titanium-liner-lock-knife/talk/2162178?utm_source=linkshare&referer=RA57FV

NotsurewhyibotherYes that is a great suggestion. A more understated logo would give a more quality look and feel for me while still acknowledging where it came from. Thanks for sharing

It's not about showing of, it's the aesthetic and look and form of the knife for me. And yes you are correct, I have no problem with etching, I like it. Just don't want a large Massdrop, or McDonald's or some other low integrity brand name who did not design or manufacture the f thing? on my knife because it is not a symbol of quality or anything I'd be proud enough to want etched into the blade. Yay I bought it at Massdrop or KnifeCentre. Do I care who sold it? Well of course I care, thankyou. I do give the nod. And I care who bought it too, so when my mate Bill gets it for me for my Birthday and he etches a large 'Bill Evans' up the side I'll be just as psyched as if it was a cool design. The only reason Massdrop is written on there is cause someone in business attire needs to run back to their owner and justify their job probably

BrennoSounds like you're just buying it as a piece of jewelry than if you care so much about what's on your blade. It's a sub $100 titanium framed S35VN folder with bearings and wood/CF scales. It only exists at that price point because of MD's distribution channels, if they want to put their name on it, so what. Why are you even here if you consider MD such a "low integrity" brand? Also, they hired someone to make the design, a lot of mainstream knife manufacturers do this. I guess Spyderco shouldn't have their logo on the Techno or Slysz Bowie since they paid for the design, right? Benchmade has an entire page dedicated to acknowledging people who design knives for them, probably shouldn't have their logo on those knives either huh? All they did was pay someone to design it and then have a factory produce them, right? This wasn't MD buying a stock of no name knives and slapping their logo on them. They were instrumental in getting the design created and working with the manufacturer to produce it. The fact that you consider them just a re-seller of this knife shows your ignorance here. At this point I'm just chalking you up to one of the countless people who troll the MD boards looking for a place to bitch about the logo, or the shipping, or the wait times.

BrennoAll they need to do is make their "logo" cooler. Problem solved. (call me Massdrop, I can get this done for you!:)
