I have the brass one, its nothing more than a novelty that rarely gets used. There are some major design issues that make this less than ideal. For starters, the blade doesn't lock open or closed. That wouldn't be a huge issue on its own, but combine that with the fact the button/slide to deploy it is on the side of the knife and it makes for a very awkward grip when you try to use it. If you deployed from the spine of the knife this wouldn't be a problem. The second, much more glaring flaw is that you have to disassemble the whole knife to replace the blade. The entire purpose of having a knife with replaceable blades is so that you can replace them quickly and easily, otherwise you might as well just spend time sharpening a real knife. All of the other FFxMassdrop knives are decent offerings, this one just seems like a money grab. Edited to add: the lanyard bead is incredibly tiny, and only looks good on this tiny knife

IanEDCi agree on the button location..the spine would be a better place IMHO. locking open or closed isnt necessary with the spring retracting it. its only open when you use it then it closes without having to think and it stays closed in the pocket , so far hasn't been a problem. as for taking it apart...if it only takes you as long to sharpen a knife as it does to take this apart and replace the blade... im thinking you dont do a very good job sharpening a knife. and the bead? too tiny? really? could you be LOOKING for anything else to whine about? you went from a review to a bitch fest with the ADDED snark. ...its a SMALL knfe for the key ring /etc to be there when you need something cut like box tape string etc, out of the way not clogging up your pocket... it isnt an EVERY thing knife. id rather use it and get tape gum on it, or dulled on zip ties etc. than my 100+ $ EDC knife.

bambam67I mention the bead because they are trying to make it seem like it's a "deal" by throwing it in and claiming it has a $12 value. It should not be factored into your purchase like they are hoping. That's not me bitching, that's me pointing out that they are trying to make the deal seem a lot sweeter than it is. Yes I was being a little facetious with my sharpening comment, but my point about taking it apart still very much stands. I have a lot of utility knives, none of them require disassembly for blade replacement except this one. That's a terrible design choice. I do.appreciate your concern.abput my.ability to.sharpen.a knife though. And you want to talk.about snark? Lol. And if you had actually read what I said about it locking open or shut, it wouldn't even be an issue of they had thought out the button placement. All my criticisms are very valid, and if you want to refer to them as a bitch fest, that's on you. I don't care if you buy this, it's your money. I'm sorry I offended you. I don't know if you have stock in these companies but if you really can't see the glaring flaws with this knife then your opinion doesn't really matter to me.
