While these do conform to my feet and have ample cushioning, as a lightweight hiking sock should, they are so NOT breathable, and moisture retaining (as opposed to moisture wicking, which they are advertised as) that after only an easy 4 mile my feet came out of my shoes completely pruned. They looked like I'd been in a hot tub for an hour. I'm certain that if I wear these for any kind of strenuous or long hike, they will cause massive blistering. I might consider keeping them as alternative dress socks for cold nights out...or maybe I'll just end up throwing them in the trash? Terrible product!

TheTaoOfJoshHey Josh - thanks for the post and I'm sorry the socks didn't fit your need. I do want to make sure we make great products, and your review is the first negative one we've had. Can you help me figure out why these didn't work for you? What type of footwear were you wearing? How hot was it on your hike, and how hard were you pushing yourself? And do you normally have sweaty feet in warm conditions? I do, and usually wear super thin socks for hiking, like cycling socks or liners. I find these Fitsoks are perfect for many folks but too warm for others. These are breathable, but they can only do so much if they're used in shoes with poor breathability, or really warm weather. Trying to figure out where you were on that spectrum! Maybe these become your non-summer hiking socks, or you can find friends who want them. Thank you very much for your open critique.

DannyMilksHello Danny...thank you for reaching out. It's nice to see a brand that open to criticism. Although, I must say, I'm extremely disappointed to be paying to be a field tester. To say that your socks did not perform to expectation would be an understatement. I've be hiking and trekking for over 20 years, and I've never had a pair of sock retain heat and moisture like Fitsoks. Not with any other brand...Smartwool, REI brand, Wrightsocks, WigWam...and regardless of whether I'm wearing trail runners, lightweight hikers, or mountaineer boots, I have never had the trouble I did with your socks. And now it's official...last week I wore your Fitsoks out on the town on a brisk 50deg evening with a pair of canvas casual shoes. After around 2hrs of strolling around town, my feet came out looking like raisins. And before you go blaming my feet or my shoes, keep in mind, this has only EVER happened when I was wearing Fitsoks. Yes...I'm incredibly disappointed in your product. And I'm disappointed that I had to waste $20. But truth be told, I'm probably most disappointed in myself...I know better than to buy off-name brands online or trust clever marketing jargon. I sincerely hope you guy put some major time and effort into improving your product. If these socks had been out with me on a serious expedition, they would have jeopardized my health and safety...or at least, inhibited my ability to be able to continue.
