The socks feel awesome, however they are MUCH smaller than expected. If you're interested in buying them. I'd suggest to go up 2 sizes minimum.

I enjoy the Massdrop x Fitsok Merino Hiker and wear an L which is beginning to feel just a smidge small. What size should I get for this sock?

I wear a size 13 men’s shoe in most brands sometimes a 14 in some brands that run a little smaller. What size sock should I order? I see it says xl is 12-14 but other socks say 12.5 is xl and larger is is xxl. I just want to make sure I get the right size. I have very long toes that tend to poke the ends of my socks, especially my big toe. Too small and the heel doesn’t hit right. I really want to try these, just want them to fit proper. Thanks
BrianbkoolThe XL should be perfect!

BrianbkoolI find this brand to always feel smaller than I expect and order the XL even though I wear a 9 shoe. It’s a great brand but I’d order the largest size you can get!

Why are these listed as a hiker? They are crew length according to the other fitsok drop. There is a picture that shows crew at 7.5" and hikers at 5"

What size?... I'm a medium in Darn Tough and wear a size 8.5 men's.
As Msilverhammer says down below, everyone is different. Personally, I prefer a taller sock: crew at the least, and over-the-calf better. Hiker height or quarter crew are shorter than I prefer for most applications, though I do have some quarter crew socks for wearing with shorts. I'm happy that these are crew length, though I hope that in the future, more sizes will be offered so that more people can get the sock they want.

Bayside_FatherYa I'm not complaining about the actual length I'm complaining about massdrop and or fitsoks description of the socks. Its misleading and wrong imo

I have to say I like Darn Tough cushion (several pairs of hikers and half crew, which I actually prefer over full crew length hiking socks) better than my pair of Fitsok (which are too thin)...but they gave me a freebie at Traildaze a couple years back (not sure if this was before or after the aquisition, but the was 2016) & they're made nearby in my home state so I'll give them a shot.

Spectra manufactured by Honeywell is a superior fiber that is extremely durable.
http://www.warwickmills.com/Spectra.aspx
As stated Spectra is being used in body armor, cordage, sail cloth, and now socks.
I believe that a backpack manufacturers Mchale, CiloGear, and HMG have also used Spectra in some of their products.
The abrasion test results that are claimed are off the charts, especially when compared to other fibers.
The fiber composition of the sock looks great, as it combines Nylon, Merino wool, Spectra, Polypropylene, and Spandex!
The only con that I see for these socks is the height of only 7 inches, which is basically a half crew sock.
Hiking socks should always be at least a crew height of 11 to 12 inches, measured from the floor to the top of the sock when on your leg.
If they want to appease the hikers who use low cut shoes with a 7 inch half crew height, then they should offer a crew height or better yet, a boot height for the majority of hikers that wear higher cut boots..

Oregon, nice country, I've been to Crater Lake in the winter, and had some distant relatives that I visited in Hood River. I'm in Florida, basically flat, hot and humid especially in the southern part for about 7 to 8 months out of the year, with many different ecosystems from Everglades to Saw Palmetto scrub to PIne and Oak forests. Winters are mild with lows sometimes reaching into the thirties at night in the south, colder in the north, but typically in the 40s and 50s during December and January, and February. Sometimes snows in the north part of Florida around Tallahassee during cold winters. Snowed once in southern Florida on January 19th, 1977! Lots of water both salt and fresh, so pretty good fishing, boating and diving! We have a lot of wildlife like alligators:

The American or Florida Crocodile:

And lots of venomous snakes like the Cotton mouth:

Of course we have really big snakes too like the invasive Burmese Python:
