Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

On the non-Schiit side of things, you can also get something like the Audio-GD NFB-11. I haven't used it but for $325 and how people talk about it (and Audio-GD in general), it seems like an incredible package. And it's a combo amp/dac. But it's also shipping from China so shipping cost will be a little up there.
There are plenty of other options for amps and dacs, but if someone tells me that they don't have either then those are my first recommendations. I am also not a headphone doctor.
It seems like getting the integrated DAC for you is not an ideal situation. you woudl be running cables from your main amp to the Jot. Then if you wanted to play music from your computer on your main speakers, you woudl have wires running back from the Jotunheim back to your main amp. Seems annoying. I would rather think you having a DAC hooked up to your speaker amp directly makes the most sense.
However, here is what I would have done if I had CDs and Vinyl. I would get the Jotunheim with the vinyl preamp inside and then I would get the modi 2 multibit. Hook up the cd player and pc to the modi and hookup the record player to the jotunheim.
