Made in collaboration with Grace Design, a company known for its incredibly accurate, transparent studio gear, the Standard DAC sets a new standard in entry-level DACs. It applies Grace Design’s pro-audio expertise to a simpler, more accessibly priced model that makes a great addition to any home or office system. Designed with the objectivist audiophile in mind, the SDAC delivers objectively good performance meant to meet or exceed the measurements of the popular ODAC while retaining many of its other benefits. Compact, capable, and easy to use, it could be all the DAC you need.
The SDAC is equipped with the new AKM AK4452 digital-to-analog conversion chip from the same family as the one used in the m9XX DAC/amp, our first collaboration with Grace Design. This allows the DAC to process the most common file types up to 24 bit/96 kHz with no harshness or edge and the kind of resolution and detail that’ll make you want to listen on and on. It runs off of USB bus power with plug-and-play operation, which means you won’t need drivers or any special software for your Windows, Mac or Linux computer. Finally, the SDAC’s small form factor is identical to the Massdrop Objective 2 headphone amp, so you can make a matching stack.
In Lyons, Colorado, near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Grace Design produces some of the most innovative, highly respected pro audio gear on the market. Brothers Michael and Eben Grace started the company 27 years ago, and today, their products can be found around the world, from home studios to the scoring stage at Skywalker Sound. They’re widely praised for delivering a combination of non-fatiguing performance, extremely detailed sound, and legendary reliability.
