MusicLoverR2R. Single ended only, more analogue sounding, chassis size matches the rest of the stack line up. SDAC. Balanced output voltage, more analytical sounding, odd size match, can’t switch between coaxial and optical using a switch as they use the same connector point. So i’d get both.

MusicLoverI have 58X, HE4XX, IMR R1 Zenith, Shure SE215. My my current favourite is the R2R into Fiio A5 portable amp into Zenith. The reasons for this is due to the A5 having the right power available for dynamic headroom, I can power the 58X but I know they don’t have the required power being supplied yet, the HE4XX I honestly can’t understand how anyone says they can be used on portable devices as they sound awful so far, that’s not a sound signature preference or driver type issue though they just lack dynamics and volume right now but I do know I don’t have the right amplifier yet. My favourite will always be the one that I’m using at a certain time which would be a whatever combination I feel I need for the scenario. Options of amp, DAC and headphone always wins for me. Sometimes I want full on everything sound, others a more relaxed time, sometimes no wires and others I don’t need a clamping headband. All that is missing now is a tone control like the Schiit Loki to come from Drop to match the stack and I’m finished, almost. Ive not worked this out but for around 2k I have everything I need to cover every scenario both portable and home use. None of it is high end, not all of it is cheap (some is very cheap) and all of it brings me a huge amount of satisfaction.
