I need some help. Not too familiar with the terminology used for the coax port. I recently purchased a Benq MH535HD projector and its audio output is a single RCA port. How can I connect that to my balanced SDAC? Do I get a single RCA-RCA cable and use their adapter? Does regular 3.5mm go into the port? If someone could send a link to the cable I should purchase I'd really appreciate it! I attached a picture of the back of the projector to show what the audio port looks like as well.

BHO24If the single yellow RCA coax is labelled audio out then buy this cable or one like it, by one like it I mean it has to be a 75ohm coaxial cable. Fiio L21 3.5mm - RCA Coaxial Digital Adapter Cable https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B019OWCID6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ApSGDbC3JB4B4

BHO24I’m pretty certain the yellow coax in video in so you can’t connect a DAC to the projector. The only audio output you have is a 3.5mm jack, the projector has a built in DAC. You can connect straight into your splitter then onto the amp and speakers from there. What is is your source you are using to send video to the projector. You need a digital output on that source to send the digital audio to the DAC.

LisasonictowerI'm running an HDMI from the projector to a switcher that will take multiple inputs so I can't really run the audio separately. I happen to have one of the L21 cables so I can run that from the projector to the splitter. The audio out is not the yellow but actually the top RCA port on the right most side of that image. Since that's the only audio out it sounds like I won't be able to use it with the DAC which you're saying wouldn't do anything anyways so that's fine. I'll just use a regular aux cable to feed into the amp, how does that sound?

BHO24sorry bottom RCA port for audio out
BHO24So, it looks to me like that audio out is similar to the 1/8" out on the DAC, which means it's just a stereo out. It could be sending a digital signal, but without knowing specs it's hard to say (MacBooks, for instance, run an optical out through their headphone jacks in older models, you just need an adapter). With a projector they're expecting you to use HDMI for the audio (since it outputs all through one signal). Actually, they're more likely expecting you to run the audio from the components you're connecting to the projector, rather than the projector itself (many 4k bluray players have separate HDMI audio outs now, for instance). Generally, theatre gear takes into account receivers and surround processors over stereo components like most audiophile DACs.

BHO24You cannot directly connect your projector to the Sdac the Yellow RCA is for Composite Video the 3.5mm audio output is Analog out (so it already passed through a DAC) Solution:
  1. Connect SDAC Directly to the PC that connect to the Projector.
  2. Buy a HDMI to Optical converter and connect to SDAC-B via Optical.
