Little box of magic!
Anyone needing a DAC to use with their PC, look no further. My KEF X300A finally gave up the ghost & I was weighing my options on whether to repair or replace. KEF had already repaired them free of charge, out of warranty, one time & if I were to send them for repair again, it would cost me. As a stopgap, I broke out a set of Logitech Z520 speakers I had previously used & had connected them to the audio out on my PC. Acceptable sound but a big step down coming from the KEF. I decided to try an external DAC & after a couple of weeks of research settled on the SDAC. Out of the box to hookup was 5 minutes. It was plug & play & the improvement in sound was immediate. Better detail, bass, soundstage & slam. The Z520's are no slouches & everything they are capable of was brought out. Well done! The performance of the SDAC has made me rethink of it as a short term temporary solution while I decided on which all-in-one to replace the X300A's with. I think that I will just pull out some things I have packed away (YBA Design WA202 & KEF Q100) & recommission them into use with the SDAC. So in addition to the great performance, it's saving me some $$$!

Very good Dac for the price. Sound great, compact and easy to use.
The Dac is very good sounding. I bought this because my Questyle CMA600i is currently in the process of repairing the famous popping and clicking problem. To be honest, at first I didn't expect it to be this good and it turns out I really enjoy the product. This pair with smsl sp200 can easily drive HD800S.

Much better than an original Dragonfly 1.2. Sounds great with my Massdrop CTH. Only downer is the 24bit/96K limit. For the price you can't possibly complain, a raging bargain.

Good DAC
This is a cheap, quite good DAC. It is, I would say on the drier, flatter, more analytic side. I compared it against Airist R2R in detail, and won half the time. For the price that's quite good, and if I could only have one DAC, I'd take this one over the Airist, because it's safer. Just a solid, good deal. Sounds especially good with the MTCH, by the way.

Great when it actually works.
Audio quality is the best you can get at the price point. Unfortunately the device will intermittently disconnect. Sometimes unplugging it and plugging it back in will fix the problem, other times it will stay connected from 30 seconds to 5 minutes and disconnect again. Every time this happens the audio will not return to the program I was running unless I close the program and restart it. Meaning either I am forced to restart the game/program I am running every couple minutes or disconnect the dac completely. Would like to recommend but until this is fixed I cant.

Did you switch cable ? Because mine clearly never had this problem. You may have a lemon, just ask support for an exchange.

Simple and Clean
This product didn't blow me away in terms of performance or features but what I love about it is it's ease of use. There are other products in this range that similar perfomance with more features, but the plug and play nature of the SDAC makes it ideal for basic set-ups.

Simple and Good!
A really good size for someone new like me, and also how smooth it looks. If anything I would prefer one more alternate output for expansion purposes but its definitely good for its price!

This is my first review of an item that I ordered from Drop (formerly Massdrop).   I received this item a couple of weeks ago and I am very pleased that I ordered this DAC and it's a massive improvement from my current DAC (hifimediy dac).  I tested this with my active speakers, HD600 and K7XX and now they sound is more fuller and enjoyable.

Upgraded from a rev 1 ODAC/O2 combo to the SDAC. Using it with a Little dot MK II and a Little dot MK III, MASSIVE difference. (I'm plugging into the ODAC's input). not a huge difference between SDAC and Dragonfly Red(used a dac) in conjunction with my tube amps. Can defiantly hear the DFR through the tubes, but it's not necessarily a bad thing.
