SineryWas exactly my thought, even though I'm not in the market for a new DAC at all. If they were going to go micro, they might as well have gone with type C, even then though I'd rather have seen type B over micro B.
MooTatersBut think about all the phone charging cables we all have a stuff in a draw, that we can use with this should it be needed. I get it, but its a plug in once and not move around kind of device, the plug isn't that big of a deal.
givemeyourshoesOnly phone charging cable I have is type C. It took a long time for my last dumbphone to die off, and when you're not used to a smartphone you don't know what you're missing...plus I'm hardly into social media. So my first smartphone was and still is the nexus 6p.
I wouldn't say it's a deal breaker by any means, but of the few devices I've used with micro B, it has often felt like a cheap and flimsy connector. The reason it's not a deal breaker to me is that it isn't a device which will be unplugged and plugged back in often, unless you're using it in a portable laptop type rig. Still though, at least case wise it looks like a type B or A would fit just fine.
SineryNot a rhetorical question meant to start an argument as I am legitimately interested in hearing your thoughts:
What's wrong with this type of connection?
