Brad.ClarkstonI suspect that is only because of the increases bitrate. At audio bitrates, I suspect the egress is probably about the same. RFI egress is very much tired to signal frequency and digital is a square wave signal which is poor for egress to start with because the steep rise and fall acts like a much higher frequency than it actually is and egress is made worse with increased bitrate. This is largely because the impedance of the shield connection rises with frequency. To put things in perspective, HDMI, carrying high res video has truly appalling RFI egress many orders of magnitude worse than any digital audio. In fact it can totally bring down other nearby electronics. I think your better of using WiFi than HDMI because WiFi is very tight band while HDMI is so exceedingly broad spectrum across and probably beyond the entire GHZ bands, so the total RFI energy is greater than that of WiFi. At least, IME HDMI is by far the most problematic source of RFI egress, even worse than unshielded CAT6.

kenwstrYour assuming people have lossless non-compressed audio going over a much better than standard WiFi signal. Unfortunately that's only somewhere around 1% to 5% of the planet. Find me a random home owner who has better WiFi/Cat6 than a SDAC connection and I'll be suitably impressed, until then this is just academic.

Brad.ClarkstonNo, I am assuming that as USBC can potentially support v3.0 v3.1 or higher etc, it may well be carrying all manner of information at higher bitrates than a v2.0 or lower. I am just not assuming it's exclusively carrying audio, depends how it's used. It's surprising to me how badly many digital cables are earthed. I mentioned HDMI as, although the earth wire is physically connected the practice of long pigtail connection means the earth connection is basically infinite impedance, ie open circuit to the egress frequencies caused by carrying full HD and above video. I wouldn't expect USB to have anywhere near that magnitude of an issue, but as you mentioned the egress is worse with USB C which is capable of carrying higher bitrates, I thought I'd just point out that egress from digital cables can be a function of bitrate.
