I thought I'd add my review here so that I can add to it as we use the packs more in the future. --- After a ton of research & a bit of anticipation, the wait is over for us as we recieved our SIX packs yesterday. (We ordered in August just before the Drop close.) These will be Christmas gifts for me, my 3-sons/2-SIL's. Hopefully they will all appreciate them on our planned annual BP trips as we are try to go lighter. (Our last packs were near 5# & getting long in the tooth...old tech!) Especially when we do King's & Gilbert Peaks in the High Uintahs next year. (+13,500's) So far they look fantastic & just as anticipated with no apparent manufacturing flaws etc. Quality is great with excellent workmanship & excellent materials. They also seem to have just the right features that we need & none that we don't. (Removable & convertible brain is a plus.) You can always improve I imagine...but any improvements would have to come at a cost...durability, quality, weight or money. To me, these really seem to be one of the best all around BPL type packs that strike the right balances, especially for the cost! I believe I'd seriously need to spend 3-4X to surpass them in ability, quality or decreased weight/volume etc. Tough to lose or go wrong on this deal. Yet to use it in the field but very satisfied so far. (Will update if this changes.)
