Great headphones
My first pair in this price bracket and I absolutely love them. Have had them for a bout 2 years now and still going strong, even after buying a pair of lcd-2's I still find myself going back to these. I will say it has the chinciest cable I have ever seen on a pair of headphones ESPECIALLY for this price range. Still though great set of headphones.

No sound in the right speaker
Right after my one year warranty was up, the right speaker stopped working. I contacted MassDrop and they informed me that they couldn't help because the warranty period had expired. The headphone has been just collecting dust on a speaker stand for months. It seems there is a short since it was intermittently playing before it just died. Sad thing is I barely used it since I have a collection of headphones. I plan to try my luck with Hifiman customer service.

Meh
Maybe I am just not a planar sound type. It's not bad, I just expected more. IMO there's no stand out weakness, bass, mids, treble all sound good and neutral. Sound stage is quite good... it's just doesn't impress me especially. I was expecting the bass to be more thunderous reading about these huge drivers and it's just not. There's no harshness 8n the highs. I am no audio expert but there's something about the upper mids, electric guitar that sounds off, undefined? Scratchy kind off. I cannot articulate really what it is but it's not as real sounding. I will say that it's effective at giving a sort of far field listening experience and maybe it's that lack of a more direct sound signature that I don't particularly care for. It just didn't draw me in or have me peering into individual instruments. Maybe it's just that I have the Elex which I really like and this is simply not at that level. I was hoping considering the cost and how it seemed all the money went to the sound/driver tech as opposed to anesthetics and headband. The cable is plain sad. I'll recommend because it's honestly not bad, I'm sure others enjoy it, but for me it's just meh. Keeping it real.

Amazing for open-world video games.
I found these to be great in audio quality. The ear cups are large and fit around your ears and not on top. One of the best attributes of this headphone is for video games because the sound is pretty wide (not super wide) and makes your gaming more enjoyable for open-world games like Death Stranding on PS4/PS5. When using something like the 6XX for a game like Death Stranding, it feels more congestive even though the sound quality is still great. The Edition XX just makes the world seem more alive and open just like what's happening on the screen. Pros: Deep Bass Good to Great Detail Not bright Wide Comfortable earcup Cons: Included cables are the worst I've ever owned Headband just doesn't work well with these earcups Earcups can reach the jaw due to it's the height No XLR cable is included in the price. A great Alternative I would argue is the Audeze LCD-2C for the price. The Drop Focal Elex is superior to the Edition XX in sound quality but is more expensive. Recommendation if there's a future revision is a better quality headband with included XLR cables.

excellent sound but build quality is terrible
Simply the best audio experience I had with this pair. Very comfortable balanced and sound stage is amazing. Unfortunately however the build quality is terrible. This started with the cable which turned to be a fine flimsy cable sleeved inside a tube that makes it look bigger. It broke after a couple of months of use and I had to find another after market cable. A Few weeks after that the pads covering started to be misaligned, and it peeled after some time. I requested another pads from Hifiman which costed a fortune. Fast-forward to last month when the drivers have detached from the headband and I had to cut through the leather to put the screw back. I cannot recommend them for the fact that they are extremely flimsy and the build quality is awful even with the sound goodness it provides

Really nice sound
These headphones are among some of the best sounding headphones I've heard. Crystal clear high end, smooth mid-range and well balanced bass. However a few words of caution are in order. The build quality of the headband leaves much to be desired and the stock cable is pure junk. Luckily these issues are easy and inexpensive to fix. A replacement cable can be had for less than $30 and adding two or three Dekoni Nuggets to the underside of the headband makes the headphones much more comfortable. I gave them five in spite the above minor issues since for the price (including the price of the fixes) they just can't be beat.

The sound was good however the cable was terrible, I had to buy an aftermarket one and the headband was from older style headphones. Long story short I would have preferred to spend a little extra on a regular Hifiman headphone than this Frankenstein compilation of mixed parts from previous model headphones. Update: I later bought the Ananda and I actually prefer these to them so at much less the cost these are a conditional recommendation. You will have to buy an aftermarket cable. --Update: I purchased the Ananda and I preferred this better. This headphone needs power. I have the HE6SE which I drive from my 805 tube class A monblocks using the HE adapter, well I drive these off of them too and they can handle the power. The larger drivers on these give a bigger soundstage than the smaller ones on the round shaped HE6SE but the HE6SE has better highs.

great for the price
These punch way above their price in sound signature and weight. Heavily Recommended.

Excellent Headphone for Laid Back and Big Sound
I'm a big fan of these headphones. They have a more laid back sound than my Ether CX with a bit more emphasis on bass delivery and a much bigger sense of sound, though they aren't as precise in imaging. They're super comfortable and perfect to wear when I just want some background music or to just relax for a bit while still knowing what's going on around me. As the clamp isn't that strong, they're not the best for lying down or reclining as they tend to slide off a bit, but I won't hold that against them. Only issue was the first one I received had one dead driver, but drop took care of me and sent me a replacement right away so I won't take off any stars.
