I have had a terrible experience with these headphones with my desktop setup. I paired them with the dark voice amp mass drop and they are quiet and really have no depth to their sound. Does anyone know what I should do to fix this?
Changing the pads should be priority #1 when you first get these. I used the Dekoni sheepskin for the TH-X00 and it made a world of difference. With the stock pads, the sound is very treble-heavy and siblant, but changing the pads help reduce that and gives the sound more depth. I think the Brainwavz angled memory foam pads might fit with a little stretching or the HiFiMan Focus pads/MrSpeakers Focus pads would work too. I've also read a review that someone put a sheet of papertowel in the ear cups to mellow out the treble too.
Without changing the pads, I probably wouldn't listen to them. But change them to something high quality, like leather or sheepskin and they will sound pretty good.
