After mulling it over a few days I have decided to cancel my order. One thing that REALLY bugs me is that either Hifiman, MD or both have NOT been transparent about this. Think about it -
1. With the original stated ship date of August 3 the headphones should right now be on a ship headed to the US and they're just now telling us that they don't have the parts to make them?
2. They gave the exact same reason for delaying the RE-00's. What? Two vastly different products that on the outside don't seem to share any of the same parts but they also had this exact same parts issue?
None of this passes the smell test and with this unique type of transaction model transparency is very important to me. Due to the lack thereof Massdrop has lost my trust here. Like I said - I don't know if this lack of transparency is the fault of Hifiman, Massdrop or both but the evidence tells us that it is clearly lacking.
I'm really disappointed with this whole experience.

HuJianIt's hifiman, even if you got them eventually there is bound to be quality concerns (considering they have QC issues on 500-1000 dollar headphones) their 99 dollar phones probably will have many of the same issues.
