I've been waiting patiently for these since the end of May, finally i got a little upset and bought a pair of Sennheiser HD8 DJ's. I didn't cancel my order for these, so it'll be interesting to actually compare them together, i'm just very disappointed with the length of time I've been waiting for these. My first pair of headphones I ordered took less than a month to be delivered, and here nearly 4 months later I have to be honest, i don't think it unrealistic to expect better delivery times. I don't know, I'm sure someone will reply to this with something regarding "you paid $99 dollars for an awesome set of cans, quit complaining." But what good does it do me if i paid and I'm still waiting to see my "investment" on my head, listening to music like i bought them for?

WowDogeit's Already been discussed in length, you could totally cancel your order, even today (i believe). True, is unacceptable that massdrop could had delay this long to deliver the headphones, but again, already been discussed, it isn't something of a common occurrence with the drops here at MD. further more, the sheer massiveness of this drop (over 5k orders, i believe), i had no doubt in my mind that MD would had trouble fulfilling it. Another thing is that, MD had been quick with the updates on where we are with the head and opted for air transport (paying for the extra cost, Hi-Fi man also pitch in) instead of sea transport. All those things aside, i can totally understand the frustration on paying for an item and not actually enjoy it. and I agree with the idea of just buying other set of headphones instead of waiting around for months (literally). BUT, if you already waited this long, we should be receiving it by the end of this month. Again, check with MD customer support, i believe they will refund you the order no problem. (again, i believe so)

LeirusThere is truth to everything you have to say. But if Massdrop was to make those same arguments after the fact, and disregard mistakes that were made (common occurrence or not), I don't think I'd keep using the site.

Massdrop made it CRYSTAL clear that this was a collaboration with HiFiMAN and that the headphones would be manufactured after the drop/s were successful. Massdrop were up front and kept us up-to-date with the manufacturing delay, something that was out of their control, and went above and beyond to get the headphones to us faster.
I fail to see the mistakes that Massdrop made. You could argue that HiFiMAN erred in the production process, but given the sheer (unexpected) volume ordered, these things happen. They happen with small and large companies. Deal with it.

WowDogeI guess people have forgotten that when these were available for purchase it clearly stated shipping wouldn't be for a little over 3 months. Yes there was a delay, and I did expect there would be given the order size, but it is pretty nice that the delay was only 3 weeks instead of much longer. I think people just need to remember what they signed up for instead of thinking they never agreed to a 3 1/2 month wait time in the first place.

Francois_GateauI'm not pointing fingers but t's frankly naive to think nothing could have been done better. And I'm not sure what you're arguing - my entire point was that I would cease to use Massdrop if they don't acknowledge the issues after the fact. You just restated my conclusion twice.

EniGmA1987actually when they first dropped the shipping date was august 3rd, then they extended the drop and the date was pushed back.
