am I the only one that's utterly disappointed by these? Sounds pretty... awful on the Schiit stack. These are def not anywhere close to being 50ohms though.
Will have to try it on the xDuo but I doubt it'll get any better. Maybe needs some serious burn in. So much for "$300" retail LOL, I guess for $100 they are okay.
Update: they are slowly getting better, or it could be my ears trying to save themselves from the suffering. I'd say burn them in overnight before doing some listening. Will probably make a good budget gaming headphone tho, soundstage is decent.
Armstrong01I wanted to run a comparison from some other headphones I had and I found a spec sheet ( http://headphones.specout.com/l/2844/Skullcandy-Hesh-2 ) this is for the Skullcandy Hesh 2 headphones. They show an impedance of 32Ohms and even the HE400s for the same price point are showing 22Ohms. Is there any way to check or do you just have to trust the box??? If the impedance is so low you shouldn't technically need an amp but every comment I have read has said it is better with an Amp. These would be my first "audiophile" grade headphones of any capacity. I just want to make sure I didn't waste my money.
BigGuns117I put them on a scope. 19 Ohms straight up. It is why they are ok for portable, but after 12 hours burn in, they sound good with an amp. Are they $600 goo - no, but they fight head to head with $200 to $300 cans. They are what I would call "accurate". Some folks find an accurate sound to be harsh. On MP3s or streaming it can be even more so. On FLAC files, off of an amp, they sound better then $99.00. Open back are meant to be listened to stationary anyway, so next to an amp.
N0gaiI dont think they are 50 ohm they are probably 19 but still for a 19 they soak up quite a bit of juice and dont bottom out at the same power that most 19 ohm would they are still fairly big drivers.

N0gaithe ORIGINAL listing though stated 50 ohms. i have a screen shot as well as a video posted earlier if you watch shows the same thing so they were changed AFTER i bought them thinking they were 50ohms to 19. im pretty sure thats the reason many people are annoyed that they showed up 19ohms.
Armstrong01These could be 50/19 ohms but super inefficient. Hard to get a good balanced sound from them. Only my highest powered amp can safely power these, but at volume levels much higher than any of my other cans.
