Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

I bought these on the previous drop. I absolutely love them.
I was in the market for new headphones and could not decide on what to get. I don't have a huge budget but I needed some good quality headphones for gaming and music. I was considering the Sennheiser Game one headphones. I looked through a bunch of reviews on all kinds of headphones. I saw a few youtube vids on these and the drop happen to be active at the time so I went for it. My first purchase on Massdrop and I was not disappointed.
I was a former car audio SPL basshead running 18in DC lvl5 sub on 5k watts RMS paired with rockford power series componet mids/highs, then slowly moved toward SQL. then I dropped out of the audio game for a few years. I may be new in the Hi-Fi world, but I do know a thing or two about good quality audio.
Out of the box, yes the highs are really REALLY up there, but they do mellow out after break-in. the low end is nice and balanced. I'm accustomed to hearing lows from a sub and I didn't think headphones could go that low. these headphones won't disappoint. Some reviews say the clamping force is very strong, however it never bothered me. I played games 3 hours straight the first day and didn't have issues. I never had open back headphones and never really noticed sound staging before I tried these on. I think they do a great job in sound staging. I played a bunch of acoustic songs and i could hear clearly the separation in the instruments (piano at 10 o'clock, violin at 1 o'clock). That blew my mind headphones could do that. I was able to clearly hear which direction footsteps were coming in games. I paired this with a modmic for voice chat in games and I love it.
TL:DR *well worth $99+shipping *sounds great. but they do need break in *good soundstaging
I just thought I'd mention, my <$7 monoprice 8320 does this just fine too. It almost feels like cheating compared to stereo speakers, doesn't it?
