Product Description
Many headphone companies have tried their hand at planar magnetic drivers, but none have done it quite like HIFIMAN. Hello! It has been brought to our attention that there may be some confusion on the earcup connector version. The quickest way to find out which version you have is by comparing the connector plug of your earcup to the connector plug of your device. If the connector plug for both earcup and device are the same, then you have the 3.5mm version. If the connector plug of your earcup is smaller than your connector plug of your device, then you have the 2.5mm version. Feel free to let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

I have both. 6xx is more accurate in treble, less soundstage, little bit less bass, amazing mids. 4xx wider soundstage, more bass, mids are also very good(except sometimes too much upper mids). 4xx is more relaxing, they involved you to listen to the music. For more accurate sound I prefer 6xx. I like 4xx wear comfort much better than 6xx, even 4xx is more heavier they dont push on ears such as 6xx.

All i have now are m50X(which i love) and Fiio q1. Now that my brother is coming from the usa, I have the option of getting a new headphone that's around 200$. Thinking whether to get the HD6XX, Hifiman HE4XX, Meze 99 noir or the Fostex T-XO II. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Any other recommendation around the same price point will also be appreciated. Thanks

So... I'm a truck driver, live in FL, and only home once every 6 weeks... I ordered these because they were to ship the next day, and yes I understand customs clearance times etc... But they cleared customs 4 days ago, and are just gathering dust in some Warehouse or trailer in New Jersey... Now I will have to wait 6 more weeks to see them, because international bridge has fallen into the water... Unacceptable, my first, and LAST drop... Sad, because I really dig the idea of massdrop

yeah, mine seem to all of a sudden started falling apart. the ear cup material detached where they attach to the headphones, the plastic band around the grille on the outside of the headphones just started coming off, the screw popping out issue you mentioned.. i love the headphones, but i'm disappointed in the actual longevity right now..

These remind me of Tin T2 only difference is they can't reach as low into sub bass - low bass. Overall feel just as smooth. I don't feel sibilance in the high's. I own T2, Fostex PH X00, and Shure SE215 as reference. Playing through a Monoprice THX AAA portable amp. No sound isolation at all super open.
